Dominic Moore - Leader

Dominic Moore is one of the finest and most experienced young violinists currently working in London, and he is a regular player with some of the best orchestras in the world. His work as an orchestral principal includes time with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra; while he has worked as a sub-principal with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic, and the Hallé.

After an illustrious career as a student at the Royal College of Music, where he claimed many prizes and led each of their orchestras, Dominic has continually been in demand as a soloist and chamber musician. He made his Wigmore Hall debut in 1999 with the Hogarth String Quartet, and has recorded a CD for Persephone, Café Music. The disc was brilliantly received, being broadcast several times on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, and Dominic made his live Radio 3 debut playing on Sean Rafferty's 'In Tune' programme.

Dominic is grateful to the Countess of Munster, Abbado and Ian Fleming Trusts and the Musicians Loan Fund for help with acquiring an extremely rare Spanish violin by Marianus Ortega. It is believed to be the only Ortega currently in the UK.
